Beautiful Connection (Chinese: 九层糕) is a 2002 Singaporean Chinese family drama serial and was telecasted on Mediacorp's Channel 8. It stars Xie Shao Guang, Huang Bi Ren, Jeanette Aw,  Aileen Tan and Zhu Mimi. The show earned many nominations for the Star Awards including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best TV Drama, Best Theme Song, Best Director and many more.


It was produced by Kwek Leng Soong (郭令送). The theme song "快乐方式" was composed by Jim Lim and sang by Rui En.The drama won the Best Drama serial award, Highest Viewership award, Best Actress (Huang Bi Ren) and Best Newcomer(Jeanette Aw) at the 2002 Star Awards held in Singapore.

Sypnosis

Beautiful Connection is about the lives of three daughters from a single-parent family, headed by a domineering and unreasonable mother, Fatty Zhen (Zhu Mimi).Spoilt by Fatty Zhen, the youngest daughter, Ke Ke (Jeanette Aw), is well-educated but arrogant. On the other hand, Ke Lian (Huang Biren) and Ke Li's (Aileen Tan) happiness have been short-changed in order to create more opportunities for Ke Ke.

Nevertheless, both Ke Lian and Ke Li are able to adapt better to society while Fatty Zhen and Ke Ke often put people off with their attitudes. Ke Lian finds true love with Lion King (Xie Shaoguang), while Ke Li finds happiness in her own family and career. While Beautiful Connection reflects on the harsh pressures and realities of life, it also shows that there will always be warmth and hope even during depressing time such as in an economic crisis.
