Infernal Affairs(Chinese: 无间道) is a 2002 Hong Kong action thriller film. The film is about an officer who is secretly a spy for a Triad and an undercover officer who infiltrates the same Triad. Tony Leung won the Best Actor Awards at the 40th Golden Horse Awards, 8th Golden Bauhinia Awards and the 22nd Hong Kong Film Awards.

Chan Wing-Yan (Tony Leung) is seemingly expelled from the police academy. In reality, Chan has secretly become an undercover cop who is sent to infiltrate Hon Sam's triad. Meanwhile, Hon Sam sends a young gangster Lau Kin-Ming to the police academy to serve as his spy.


Infernal Affairs starts by quoting the  Buddhist classic Nirvana Sutra Verse Nineteen: “The worst of the Eight Hells is called Continuous Hell. It has the meaning of Continuous Suffering. Thus the name.” It then closes with another quote from Buddha:“He who is in Continuous Hell never dies. Longevity is a big hardship in Continuous Hell.”
